Jon Mármol comes from the world of Interior Architecture and Sculpture and has developed his artistic projects in the field of jewelry design. During his masters he started working in a shared atelier, where he experimented with his own work whilst he continued to study. He exhibited his works throughout Barcelona, London, Shanghai and Berlin.
He then went on to spend time exploring the emerging artist scene in Brooklyn, New York, where he was inspired by the connection between artists and their collaboration, which motivated him to pursue a career as a freelance artist. And so he decided to move to Berlin in 2014, a city with a vibrant underground art scene. Here he also became involved in editorials, exhibitions and film productions, working as a set designer and photographer.
Currently he has his own line of accessories, entirely handcrafted, focused especially on metallic surfaces. Gold plays a pre dominant role in his work, inspired by his time working as a sculptor, where he modeled award figures in a baroque style. Fascinated by the iconography of sexual fetishism, his works explore the relationship between elegance and provocation. He feels that one of the most important inspirations for his work is the person he creates for - their physical appearance, personality, soul and style.
